A few simple rules to ensure that recipes are clear, easy to use and enjoyable for everyone. 😊
Recipe
- Please do not copy recipes from other websites. If you’ve taken inspiration from another recipe, please cite the source in the Notes section and write the method in your own words.
- Write the title in standard text, without emojis. Avoid titles such as “The best…” or “…in my opinion”.
Photographs
- Add only your own photographs, ideally taken in landscape format.
- Do not use photographs from the internet, AI, books or magazines.
- The main photograph should be the finished dish, not the ingredients or food in a pot.
- The photograph should show the finished dish as clearly as possible.
- Do not use the same photograph for more than one recipe.
Method
- Write down the individual steps in the order in which they follow one another during cooking.
- Formulate the method so that even a beginner can follow the recipe.
- Write in the first person plural: „Season the meat with salt and pepper and fry it in a pan.“
- Do not use abbreviations.
- Do not use reflexive pronouns: “Peel the potatoes”, not “Let’s peel the potatoes”.
- For baking, state the temperature, baking time and, ideally, the size of the baking tray or tin.
- Your own tips and tricks belong in the ‘Notes’ section.
- A comma or full stop is always followed by a space.
